Summary
- The Redline System allows high-end players to continue progression of Aspect, Mastery Chains, and Caps beyond the normal limitations
- Players will earn Experience and unlock Redline Points which they may spend on Redline Upgrades
- All Experience and Redline Points earned by a player are shared Account-Wide
- Players can launch the Redline Menu with the [Redline command or access it from the Paperdoll -> Help Menu -> Redline
Redline Requirements
- Players can begin earning Redline Experience and purchasing Redline Upgrades once they have done either of the following:
- Unlocked a Tier 15 Aspect on their account
- Unlocked 30 Mastery Chain Links on their account
Experience Scalars
- Players will have an Experience Scalar that adjusts how much Experience they earn towards the Redline System when earning Gold at locations
- Players can have at most a 100% Experience Scalar for the Redline system
- If a player has unlocked 30 Mastery Chain Links on their account, they will have a 100% Experience Scalar for the Redline system
- Alternatively, a player can increase their Experience scalar by 33% for each unique Aspect on their account that they have reached Tier 15 with
- If players have multiple characters that have reached Tier 15 for the same aspect, that specific Aspect will not count multiple times
Redline Upgrades
- At the top of the Redline menu is the Upgrades section, where players can spend Redline Points to purchase Redline Upgrades
- Each character on an account has full access to all Redline Points earned on the account (i.e. each character can spend the full amount available independently)
- Character Redline Upgrade selections are stored on a per Echo basis; switching Echoes will switch a character's Redline Upgrade selections
Aspect Tier Limit
- The Aspect Tier Limit upgrade allows players to unlock Aspect Tier Levels 16-20 for Aspects
- Players will still be responsible for paying Cores/Distillations/Triumphs needed to upgrade the Tier level on each Aspect they wish to raise
- Players will not be required to earn any Aspect Experience for Tier Levels 16-20, and can immediately upgrade them once they've raised their Aspect Tier Limit to that Tier Level amount
- Players can only purchase this upgrade if they have at least one Aspect of Tier 15
Mastery Chain Link Limit
- The Mastery Chain Link Limit upgrade allows players to install up to 20 additional Links into their Mastery Chain (for a total of up to 50)
- Players can only purchase this upgrade if they are at the standard 30 Link Limit
Swing Speed Cap
- The Swing Speed Cap upgrade allows players to raise their player's Swing Speed Cap
- A player's Swing Speed Cap is the maximum bonus amount they can receive to Melee Swing Speeds (defaults to +50%)
- Each upgrade increases the player's Swing Speed Cap by +0.5% and can be increased by by maximum of +10%
Mana Refund Chance Cap
- The Mana Refund Chance Cap upgrade allows players to raise their character's Mana Refund Chance Cap
- A player's Mana Refund Chance Cap is the maximum bonus amount they can receive to Mana Refund Chances when casting spells (defaults to +50%)
- Each upgrade increases the player's Mana Refund Chance Cap by +0.5% and can be increased by by maximum of +10%
Damage Resistance Cap
- The Damage Resistance Cap upgrade allows players to raise their character's Damage Resistance Cap
- A player's Damage Resistance Cap is the maximum amount of Damage Resistance effects the player can stack for reducing damage taken, not including any reductions from Armor/Magic Resist/Parrying (defaults to 75%)
- Each upgrade increases the player's Damage Resistance by +0.5% and can be increased by by maximum of +10%
Codex Points Upgrades
- Codex Point Upgrades will cost 12 Redline Points each and can be purchased up to 5 times for each codex
- Each Codex Point Upgrade purchased will increase the amount of Points to Spend available for the player for upgrades within that codex
- Players can only purchase a Codex Points Upgrade if they have earned the maximum Experience possible within that codex (including for all Summons within the Summoner's Tome)
- Players who have Codex Point Upgrades for a codex will see their "Points Spent" max or "Points Unlocked" increased beyond the normal limit
- Players will not have to earn additional experience to gain access to these additional Points
Resetting Codex Upgrades
- Whenever a player has purchased Codex Upgrades and resets their Redline Upgrades for their character, if their total points spent within that codex now exceeds their normal max, it will reset their upgrades for that codex
- Players will receive a system message for each codex reset in this matter, such as: "Wizard's Grimoire points spent exceeds max: resetting upgrades"
Redline Experience
- In order for players to unlock Redline Points to spend on Redline Upgrades, they must first earn Experience at locations by earning Gold (through killing Monsters, unlocking Treasure Chests, performing Ship activities, etc)
- Each location has its own Experience Amount Needed towards unlocking Redline Points
- The amount of Experience a player earns at each location is adjusted based on the player's Experience Scalar for the Redline system (i.e killing a 1000 gold monster with a 33% Experience Scalar will earn 333 Experience for a location)
- The amount of Redline Experience received from earning Doubloons by Sinking NPC Ships and Killing NPC Crewmembers has been reduced by 50% (patch: June 8, 2024)
- Once a player has earned enough Experience at a location they will be given the option to unlock a Redline Point from it
- However, to unlock a Redline Point the player must have a Redlightning Bottle and Redline Certification in their backpack to consume
Redlightning Bottles
- Redlightning Bottles are somewhat rare loot items that may appear from any loot-producing content on Outlands
Redline Certifications
- Redline Certifications can be purchased from the Prevalian Merchant under the Misc category
- Redline Certfications can be purchased with Gold or Doubloons (but not Prevalia Coins)
Unlocking Redline Points
- Players can click the Unlock Point button to consume a Redlightning Bottle and Redline Certification from their backpack, and earn a Redline Point from the location
- Unlocking a Redline Point increases the player's "Redline Pts Available" they may spend on Redline Upgrades
- Players can also see how many total Redline Points they have unlocked from that specific location on the right side of the menu
- After unlocking a Redline Point at a location, the amount of Experience needed to unlock further Redline Points from that location will increase
Progressive Experience Amounts
- The base amount of Experience needed to unlock a Redline point at a specific location is 5,000,000
- Each time a player unlocks a Redline Point at a specific location, the amount of Experience needed to unlock further Redline Points from that same location increases as follows:
Purchasing Redline Upgrades
- Players can see how many Redline Points Available they have to spend on upgrades in the top-left section of the menu
- Each character on an account is allowed to spend the full amount of Redline Points unlocked for that account (i.e. an account with 25 Redline Points unlocked can have multiple characters each spending 25 points on upgrades)
- Each Redline Upgrade has a different Redline Points Cost needed to purchase
- The Cost for each Redline Upgrade is fixed and will not increase if a player purchases it multiple times
- If a player does not have enough Redline Points available to purchase a Redline Upgrade, it will be listed in Grey text
- Players can click the "Upgrade" button twice to confirm purchasing a Redline Upgrade
Resetting Points Spent
- Players are allowed to Reset their Redline Points spent once every 24 hours
When a player Resets their Redline Points, the following will occur:
Resetting Aspect Tier Limit
- If a player has raised their Aspect Tier Limit and unlocked any Aspect Tiers above 15, the Aspect's Permanent Tier Level will remain the same, however the player's Active Tier Level will drop to 15 and cannot be increased until the player increases their Aspect Tier Limit again
- The Active Tier Level for an aspect will display in Red Text if a player has unlocked higher tiers for that aspect but are restricted from using them due to having an insufficient Aspect Tier Limit
Resetting Mastery Chain Link Limit
- If a player has raised their Mastery Chain Link Limit and installed more than 30 Links into a Mastery Chain, the player will see a "WARNING: LINK LIMIT EXCEEDED" message in their Mastery Chain menu
- The "Links Installed" and "Link Limit" numbers will also display in RED TEXT
- All of the players Mastery Chain Links will provide no bonuses and display as 0% Bonus in the menu until the player removes excess links or increases their Mastery Chain Link Limit sufficiently
Redline Trophies
- Players now can unlock Achievement Trophies for each location available in the Redline System
- Players earn progress towards individual Redline Achievement Trophies by Unlocking Redline Points for that location
- There are 5 Ranks of Redline Trophies for each location in the Redline System
- Each location in the Redline menu will also display the highest level Trophy Rank the player has earned
