- With a skill-based system untethered from rigid class structures, players can mix and match abilities to create hybrid roles, where no choice you make is set in stone, and can be changed as easily as raising one skill, and lowering another when at your skill cap.
Warning: We strongly recommend creating all of your PvM characters on the same account! This is because Mastery Chain experience (the main long term progression system on Outlands) is account bound and spreading it out over multiple accounts will slow down your progression significantly.
New Players training to Leaving Shelter Island Templates
- Click New Player Templates below for a collection of premade templates you can choose to start with when you first step on Shelter Island.
- They are recommended as a guide and quick path to starting your adventure, however you can still choose an Advanced template allowing you to choose each individual skill on your own, and make your own way.
- New Players have a maximum of 700 skill points available, and a skill cap of 100 skill points. This can be increased through the Skill Mastery system.
Basic to Advanced Templates

- They are recommended as a guide for progressing along the path to more advanced templates.
- With the use of skill orbs, and skill scrolls, players can reach a maximum of 720 skill points, and some non combat/magery skills can be increased to 120. See the Skill Mastery system for more details.
